For VC, PE, and family offices

Continuous portfolio monitoring without update requests.

Barvol gives investment teams a current view of commitments, decisions, and Reality Score in each portfolio company. The data comes from each company's operating activity, so founders do not prepare reports and your team does not chase them.

Portfolio monitoring

One portfolio view, sorted by risk.

Every connected company appears in one table with Reality Score, revenue, runway, customer count, and open commitments. Companies are grouped into three risk bands so the team can see where attention is needed.

Commitment visibility

A record of what each company committed to, and whether it was delivered.

Barvol tracks the commitments founders make to customers, investors, and their teams, and follows each against its deadline. This reduces the reporting burden on founders and gives your team data with a clear provenance: each entry traces back to the activity that produced it.

  • Open, at-risk, and overdue commitments per company
  • A change log of what moved since your last review
  • Notes kept by your team against each company

Deal pipeline and due diligence

Pipeline tracking with due diligence attached to each deal.

Deals move through defined stages, with time in stage recorded. Each deal carries a due diligence checklist across five categories, with the supporting documents linked to the item they evidence.

LP reporting and capital calls

LP register, KYC status, and capital calls in one system.

The register holds each LP's commitment, capital called, distributions, and uncalled balance. Capital calls are allocated pro rata and issued to each LP as a PDF notice.

  • Pro-rata allocation calculated for each capital call
  • Capital call notices issued to every LP as a PDF

Implementation

Three stages from setup to live monitoring.

  1. 01

    Fund setup

We configure your fund, your team's roles, and the fields your portfolio companies report.

  2. 02

    Portfolio invitations

Each founder receives a connection request and approves it from their own Barvol workspace.

  3. 03

    Live monitoring

A company appears in the portfolio view once its founder approves. Data then updates from the company's own activity.

Procurement

Questions from procurement.

Who owns the data?

Each portfolio company owns its workspace data. The fund owns its own records: pipeline, due diligence notes, LP register, and fund documents. Barvol processes both on your behalf and does not use either to train AI models.

Where is the data stored?

Application data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the EU multi-region. Uploaded files are held in encrypted object storage. The application is hosted on Vercel. Our security page lists the providers involved.

How is access controlled?

Fund members are assigned a role: general partner, analyst, fund administrator, or limited partner. Each role determines what a member can view and change. Two-factor authentication is available on every account. SSO and SAML are coming soon.

What can a founder see, and what do they share?

Founders approve the connection and control optional fields. Founders do not see your pipeline, your notes, or other portfolio companies.

What happens when we stop using Barvol?

Tell us when you offboard and we will arrange the export or deletion of your fund's records.

How is it priced?

Pricing is custom and depends on the size of the fund and the modules you use. We quote after a demo.
